Liverpool has rejected a £90m Coutinho bid from Fc Barcelona
Liverpool football club has rejected a £90m bid from Barcelona for their Brazilian superstar Philippe Coutinho. The club has
once again told the La Liga giants that "Coutinho not for sale at any price".
The Catalans have now failed with two bids after their earlier £72m offer was rejected in July. This current offer sums up to €100m, with an initial payment of €85m plus €15m in add-ons.
Liverpool Fc considers the matter closed but it is not known if Barcelona will continue their pursuit of this incredible attacking midfielder.
Reports coming from Spain earlier this week indicated that a deal was close to completion but Liverpool has proven that those claims were false as the Reds aren't interested in meeting with officials from Barcelona for negotiation.
Klopp is desperate to keep Philippe Coutinho at the Club |
But Coutinho has said that he's not going to force his way out of Anfield against the Liverpool's wish.
Liverpool in January, tied Philippe Coutinho down to a new 5-year deal which, crucially, doesn't have a release clause.
That situation leaves the power in the hands of Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool owners, and they would face a huge backlash from the fans if they weakened their stance and then decided to sell Coutinho.
