Declare Raila Odinga President now!!! - main opposition party in Kenya demands

National Super Alliance (NASA), the main opposition coalition party in Kenya, has called on Kenya’s electoral commission to declare their
candidate Raila Odinga as president in the just ended election.

This was said at press conference on Thursday afternoon, in attendance was the presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, NASA campaign manager Musalia Mudavadi said they've received data from some unnamed IEBC sources that clearly indicate that their candidate Odinga is in a comfortable lead.

He said 'the data which confirms the legitimate and authentic results of the just ended presidential elections show the 2 leading candidates had the following votes. Odinga had 8,041,726 votes and the incumbent candidate, Uhuru Kenyatta 7,755,428 votes… But when you visit the IEBC website, the results displayed there shows that Uhuru Kenyatta in the lead with 8,056,885 votes and Raila Odinga with 6,659,493 votes,” Musalia said.

“The lawful and accurate results in the just ended presidential election is the transmission received from the various polling stations and contained in the IEBC servers and not the unverified results displayed” he continued.

“We, therefore, demand the chairperson of the IEBC to disclose the final results and declare Raila Odinga as duly elected president of the Republic of Kenya,” He added.

Musalia Mudavadi demanded that the IEBC, as a matter of urgency removes the misleading results displayed on their website and then make the forms 34A and 34B accessible to all the political parties to download for verification if only they want the outcome of the election to be accepted.

He also said, they have sent a letter to the IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati to express their gross disappointment and for the electoral commission to look into the various irregularities and errors with immediate effect.

“the least outcome we expected from the electoral commission was to undertake an investigation of our these claims.. Given the importance and urgency of matters like this, the IEBC should've released information from their investigation,” He also added.

A journalist asked him if they had compiled all the results from the various polling stations which the IEBC is still waiting for? Musalia Mudavadi said what they've is more "likely the final results”.

When He was asked if they'll proceed to court should the results go against them, Mudavadi said: “When we're told at the appropriate time whether it's within the court of law, then we'll also present our evidence”.

NASA said Odinga will not speak until after the final declaration of results.
