A-Plus to contest for NPP constituency chairman

Controversial musician and activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A-Plus says

his ambition to be Chairman of the party could be a stepping to greater heights in politics.

A-Plus made known his intention to compete for the Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party at Gomoa in the Central constituency via social media.

In reaction to queries on why he prefers to begin} his political career from a low rank compared to most of his colleague celebrities within the industry who mostly start contesting parliamentary seats, A-Plus replied that his bid is a springboard.

He said; “I don’t see constituency Chairman as a lower-ranked considering that you are in charge of a whole constituency. Also, to win an election for the party in that constituency will be the most important dream of every party, besides one always has to begin from somewhere,” A-plus said.

A-plus also hinted of his determination to contest the presidency of Ghana in some years to come.

“Eventually if i would like to become the president of Ghana, but for now i would like to be the constituency Chairman, so long as we've life all other things shall follow.

"I even dream to be the president of America,” he said jokingly.

When asked by MzGee if he would recommend that his colleagues in showbiz who wish to venture politics begins from the scratch, he said, “I don’t even wish to inform people what to try to, they live in their constituencies, they already know their strengths within the constituencies. As for me, i would like to work with the people from the grass root, i want to understand them, i know them”

He also made mentioned of Hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone as one of the industry giants who also believes in his political ambition.
