    Amaju Pinnick to replace Kwesi Nyantakyi at CAF

    The President of CAF (Confederation of African Football), Mr.Ahmad Ahmad has appointed the Nigerian Football Federation President to replace embattled former First Vice
    Chairman and President of Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi.

    The former President of the GFA resigned from his position a few days after he was caught in an investigative film by a Ghanaian journalist called Anas Aremeyaw Anas engaging in some corrupt dealings.
    He mentioned the name of the president, vice, and some top government officials in the said video titled “Number 12”. The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has since reported him to the police for the necessary action.

    Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi was suspended by the world football-governing body, FIFA after the investigative film was premiered in Ghana last month.

    CAF reported on Thursday that its president has selected Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, following Kwesi Nyantakyi’s resignation.
    Ahmad Ahmad made the decision in consultation with the members of the Emergency Committee of CAF.
    The appointment is in accordance with Article 27 (2) of the statutes of the continent’s sport governing body CAF.
    The decision is expected to “be ratified by the Executive Committee (EC) in its session which is scheduled on the 27-28th of September this year”.
