FIFA dismisses Ghana’s complaint over poor officiating in Uganda.
The world's football governing body, FIFA, has rejected Ghana’s complaint about poor officiating in the Black stars World Cup qualifying match last
weekend against Uganda.
The Ghana Football Association wanted their goaless drawn game in Uganda replayed and also made a protest against South African referee Daniel Bennett and his assistants from the Seychelles.
The Black stars failure to win against Uganda means that the Pharaohs of Egypt, which beat Republic of Congo 2-1 qualified to play in Russia 2017 World Cup.
FIFA says in a statement “no official proceedings will be opened around the World Cup qualifying match Uganda verses Ghana.”
The GFA believe that two goals were disallowed by the South African referee for incorrect offside decisions. Replays of the incident suggested that, a stoppage-time goal which was disallowed should have been counted.
The request by the GFA followed FIFA's last month order for a replay of the South Africa-Senegal World Cup qualifying match played in 2016 which resulted in some controversial decisions and subsequent suspension of the Ghanaian referee who officiated that match.
