The Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku admitted last night that he is "not yet the complete package” despite costing
Manchester United a potential £90m.
But Lukaku declared that he has joined United just to win trophies as part of Mourinho’s “masterplan”.
Romelu Lukakau has scored 104 goals in His last 5 seasons but says he still has a long way to go before he reaches the enviable level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewandowski, the two main top players United were linked with this summer.
The 24-year-old Belgian is confident that he can silence all critics who have accused him of being “ a flat track bully” and also justify Manchester's United’s huge investment of £75m down plus £15m in bonuses.
“I am only 24 years, so I can’t say that I am yet the complete package,” Lukaku said. “I can’t say I’m at my peak.
“I have a lot of work to be done and I am delighted that there is still more work to be done. That means I have the potential of becoming even better than I am now...
“I am far from the enviable level of Cristiano and Lewandowski. That is the level I am aiming for and I know to reach that level, I have to keep improving.
“I simply want to be the best player I can be. I will never say it’s good enough NOO, there's always room for improvement. It’s a kind of pressure I put on myself. When you play for Manchester United you have to know that the task is huge and you have to perform every week.
“As for me, it is all about winning games. am currently at a club where winning is the most important thing.”
After such incredible goals against Real Salt Lake City and Manchester City in Houston, Romelu Lukaku will be wishing for more goals in Manchester United’s final game of their United States tour against Fc Barcelona in Washington this Thursday.
Lukaku also added that “Mourinho as a manager has a master plan and we're here to follow just that. Hopefully, it will definitely take us to the top.
“That is the reason I came here just for trophies and Manchester United, for me is equal to trophies. The bigger club like United equals trophies"
“As I was growing up, I have seen Manchester United win the EPL league every year, almost. I want to be a part of that history.”
