Conte already looking for Batshuayi January replacement: Benteke and Vardy admired
The Chelsea hitman, Michy Batshuayi has struggled to make a meaningful impact at Stamford Bridge since his £33m arrival last year.
Following his abysmal
performance in the defending champions shock 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, Conte is on the lookout for another deal this January.
The Italian wanted to sign Fernando Llorente during the transfer window to help bolster his options up front but only Alvaro Morata came in from Real Madrid, leaving Chelsea stretched as the premier league's heat gets hotter.
The Blues shortcomings have been clearly exposed in Morata's recent absence due to a hamstring injury and according to The Telegraph, Antonio Conte is ready to bring reinforcements into his squad when the January window opens.
It is said that the Chelsea manager is an admirer of Crystal Palace hitman Benteke who missed Saturday's clash due to a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is also considering a deal with Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
They could revive their interest, with the club much more likely to prioritise players with Premier League experience.
Also, a new arrival at Chelsea could well see Batshuayi loaned out as Chelsea's eye a more reliable back-up to the Spanish Alvaro Morata.
The Telegraph added that Batshuayi would have left on loan if Tottenham signing Llorente went through.
The Belgian international demonstrated his frustration as he was taken out in the 57 minutes at Crystal Palace.
However, it is claimed that he was more angry with himself for his poor performance rather than Antonio Conte.
Alvaro Morata is set to return the bridge when they host Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday (7.45pm).
