Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play Hearts of Oak on August 6 -PLB
The Premier League Board (PLB) has confirmed that Kumasi Asante Kotoko Fc will be back in competitive action on the 6th August with a home
match against the Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The PLB says Asante Kotoko have to honor their outstanding league match against Accra Hearts of Oak on the 6th of August before playing their second outstanding game against the league leaders WAFA on 23rd of August.
In a statement released by the Premier League Board said: “All the outstanding matches including matches involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be cleared within the one month period.
“Upon a second medical review from Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the PLB and GFA (Ghana Football Association) on July 25, 2017, it indicated that Kumasi Asante Kotoko team will be medically ready to be on the pitch again by August 6, 2017”.
The "Porcupine Warriors" have not been involved in any competitive match since their tragic bus accident that injured most of their players and took the life of their equipment officer on their way to Kumasi after losing a league game against Inter Allies two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the Match day 22 fixture between league leaders WAFA and Obuasi Ashanti Gold has also been scheduled for 30th of July at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi.
WAFA was unable to play that league game because about seven of their first team players were called to join the local Ghana Black Stars in an international friendly match against USA and Mexico.
The Premier League Board's one-month break will also give space for the MTN FA Cup and the CHAN qualifiers.
