    PHOTOS: Football fans and relatives say final goodbye to killed Chapecoense players

    On Saturday, the first 50 bodies of players who died in the Chapecoense plane crash were transported to Brazil from Colombia for the memorial at the Arena Conda stadium.






    Thousands of football fans lined up in the pouring rain to pay their last respects to the players and relatives. According to reports from the media, the total number of mourners at the sports stadium was around 100,000. 



    A fan of the team holds a sign that thanks to the world for its outpouring of sympathy support and add, "We'll never walk alone."




    The dead bodies of the players arrived at Chapeco airport in Santa Catarina in Brazil on Saturday and they were received by Brazilian President Michel Temer




    "This very event, as you all know, shocked the whole country," the Brazil President said in a brief memorial ceremony. "This rain must be that of St. Peter crying."




    In total, about 71 people were killed in the plane crash, mostly club players, staff, media men and flight crew.





    The bodies of the deceased Chapecoense players and staff were transported from Brazil airport to Arena Conda sports stadium, where the majority of the fans had gathered.





    Fans lined the street to pay their last respects as Brazil military and police escorted the coffins of the deceased. 



     
    Investigations into the unfortunate incident have found that the plane ran out of fuel in its final moments and this caused the disaster.


     
    Players of Chapecoense were on their way to face Atletico Nacional in the Copa Sudamerica final in Columbia. On Saturday at the memorial ground, Atletico Nacional's logo was displayed alongside Chapecoense's.

    While thousands of football fans mourned, most families were reunited with the bodies of their loved ones for a funeral procession.

    The family members of the deceased formed a funeral procession in the sports stadium.





    Fans at the stadium for the funeral displayed many banners that said, "Colombia, thank you for everything."





    A fan of the team displays a sign that thanked Colombia and the world for their support during these difficult momoents, along with the words, "Eternal champions."




    In total, 19 football players from Chapecoense died in the plane crash accident. 




    The Goalkeeper of the team, Danilo was saved from the crash site but later died at the hospital.




    Among those who lost their lives in the plane crash were also dozens of staff of Chapecoense club and 20 journalists.
